Meet the Senior Executive Team 

Central Management within the Department of Children, Youth and Families consists of administrative and management components to assist the Director with coordination and oversight.  The centralized management components include:

Office of the Director - provides overall direction and oversight to all functions including child welfare, children's behavioral health and juvenile correction services.  The office provides public, community and legislative relations and facilities planning and public policy development.  These activities ensure intra- and inter-agency coordination and integration.

Office of Management Information Systems - responsible for the enhancement and maintenance of the department's centralized information system, RICHIST (Rhode Island Children's Information System). The MIS Unit provides technical support for over 750 personal computers and provides on-site support and training to over 800 end users. The MIS Unit is also responsible for operating the department's records center.

Support Services - include personnel, labor relations, staff development and training, and departmental hearings; as well as Legal Counsel which represent the Department in Family Court proceedings related to child abuse and neglect, in commitment trials and in termination of parental rights, civil litigation in state and federal courts and administrative and labor tribunals.  Legal consultation to the Director, administrators and line staff involved in Family Court proceedings is also provided.

Office of Management and Budget - consists of budget development and monitoring, financial management and federal benefits eligibility determination and reimbursement functions.
