Description: Psychiatric Hospitalization is provided to all fee-for-service Medicaid-eligible and uninsured children presenting a danger to themselves or to others at the time of admission. Need for psychiatric hospitalization is assessed by the community Mental Health Centers, children are admitted to private psychiatric hospitals under contract with the department. The Division of Children's Behavioral Health is also responsible for utilization review of all fee-for-service Medicaid-eligible youth who are in the hospital.
