Description: The Intake Service Unit is part of the Division of Child Protective Services. The unit is staffed by Social Case workers. In addition to processing cases which came to the attention of the department through the Child Abuse Hot Line, the Intake Unit also works with families who voluntaryily request service referrals and information. An Intake worker may speak with a parent by phone or in person if needed and will assist families by making service referrals within the community or different divisions of DCYF if warranted.
